You Americans have the best holidays. Thursday’s full of NFL action, and then a full slate of college football on Fridays. A bunch of great college basketball tournament play to boot. And big freaking balloons invading Broadway. Life is good.
Three college football games intrigue me on Friday:
Central Michigan (-2.5) at Akron - The Akron offense […]

What a horrendously boring day of football this has been so far. Two games and two totally predictable mismatches. Tonight’s NFL offering doesn’t promise to be any better, either. Thankfully, the college ranks are providing an intriguing game:
USC (-3) at Arizona State - I think that it’s a bit of an insult that ASU is […]

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans out there. I’m a Canadian, so it’s not my Thanksgiving, but I work mostly for Americans, I will be lying on the couch watching football all day like most Americans, and I really, really love turkey, so there will be a bird in the oven at my house in […]

There are more NFL games this weekend than we have seen since before the bye weeks started, yet there are only three that strike my fancy. I am intrigued by Buffalo and their mountain of points at home, but I can’t convince myself to pull the trigger on it.
New York Giants (-3) at Detroit - […]

Five games capture my attention this weekend. None of them, of course, will be nearly as interesting to me as watching my beloved Wolverines crush the life out of the Buckeyes will be.:
Western Michigan (+14.5) at Iowa - Western Michigan is hit and miss and have not been a great team to bet on […]

Oregon (-10) at Arizona - I’m going to play this game because I have a good streak going on Thursday nights, and to give you all something to read, but it’s one I would probably pass most days. On the surface, I really like Oregon here. The Wildcats only have an average defense, and […]

Three college basketball games that I’ll be following as I watch football today:
Brown (+13.5) at Michigan - The John Beilein era at Michigan started strong, and I expect that to continue. Michigan played with some solid tempo in their opening game, and I don’t expect Brown to be able to match it. Pick: Michigan.
Pepperdine (+9) […]

I’ll mostly be watching football today, but I will continue to get my feet wet in basketball:
William & Mary (+22.5) at Georgetown - This is the first game for both teams, and the time the programs have ever met. Georgetown wants to win it all this year, and they will be looking to make a […]

There may be more, but as of Friday night these are the NFL games I will be paying speciall attention to:
Philadelphia (+2.5) at Washington - Neither of these teams are playing particularly well right now. The difference, I think, is that Washington has the chance to rebound and make the playoffs, while this has the […]

There are four games that have caught my eye this weekend because of the value they offer:
Indiana (-1.5) at Northwestern - This is a game between two teams who are better than they have been in recent years, but still are a long way from being great. Of the two, though, I think Indiana is […]
