Saturday morning withdrawal
I feel lost and directionless without college football games today. Bowl season can’t come along soon enough. I’m going to try to get through this hardship by focusing on other things for a while. Here are a few notes that have my attention this weekend:
- Ricky Hatton vs. Floyd Mayweather is going to be a spectacular fight tonight. Mayweather is the deserving favorite, but I love the brawling Hatton, and I don’t mind the +170 price on him. It’s a total clash of styles - Pretty versus not at all pretty. The best part of it from the story perspective is that neither guy has ever lost. At the very least it should be much more exciting than Floyd’s last fight.
- Marc Bulger is out for the Rams and Brock Berlin will be making the start. I had no idea that Berlin was still alive.
- Duke’s football team is apparently looking at hiring former UCLA coach Karl Dorrell. What an awful move. Apparently they aren’t content that they have been doing enough losing already. He is an epic disaster.
- Appalachian State advanced to the FCS championship game. I will be cheering for them will every ounce of my heart. It’s too late to salvage Michigan’s disastrous season, but at least a win by App. State in the championship makes my boys look the littlest bit better.
