USC (-14) vs. Illinois (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 5:00 p.m. ET) – USC should be the favorite here, but I think this line is inflated by public love. Illinois finished strong, and I think that they will be at the top of their game to prove that they belong in the BCS and that Ron Zook truly has the program turned around. Florida (-10) vs. Michigan (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1:00 p.m. ET) – I am a huge Michigan guy, but I can’t be blinded by my loyalty here. The Michigan coaching situation is a mess, the team just isn’t very good, it is fighting injuries, it has nothing to play for, and it can’t stop a mobile quarterback. Texas Tech (-6) vs. Virginia (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1:00 p.m. ET) – The Texas Tech victory over Oklahoma is the one that sticks in everyone’s mind, and I suspect that is why this line is where it is. Missouri (-3) vs. Arkansas (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 11:30 a.m. ET) – I would have felt better about Missouri before they lost badly to Arkansas, but I still like them here. I’m a little bit concerned about Missouri’s ability to stop the run, but the Tigers are far more dynamic and explosive than Arkansas and I expect that to win out in the end. Tennessee (-3) vs. Wisconsin (Tuesday, Jan. 1, 11:00 a.m. ET) – I had no problem coming to a conclusion in this game. Sometimes that’s kind of scary. Regardless, I like Tennessee. In recent weeks Tennessee tore up the SEC before falling to LSU in the championship. Wisconsin didn’t look competitive against Ohio State, and then finished with a hollow win over a short-handed Michigan and a meaningless victory over Minnesota. Georgia Tech (-4.5) vs. Fresno State (Monday, Dec. 31, 2:00 p.m. ET) – Time to take another underdog. Fresno State had their problems, but they played tough against the tough teams on their schedule. I was particularly impressed by the way they handled Kansas State. Georgia Tech is a more talented team, but they have too many troubles. California (-4) vs. Air Force (Monday, Dec. 31, 12:30 p.m. ET) -  Let me say up front that I am making this bet because of emotion. Cal has been an embarrassing disaster, while Air Force is full of heart and effort. Cal is way more talented, but no team that can’t get up to beat Stanford is going to get my support. Air Force will be playing extremely tough, and they will want it more. Pick: Air Force.

Clemson (-2) vs. Auburn (Monday, Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m. ET) – Both teams closed well, but Auburn wasn’t happy. Their coaching staff has been shaken up, and I that obviously can’t be a good thing when it comes to game preparation. Clemson is riding high, they have extended Tommy Bowden, and they can be explosive. It’s a bit of a coin fip here, but I’ll take Clemson. Pick: Clemson.

Oklahoma State (-4.5) vs. Indiana (Monday, Dec. 31, 5:30 p.m. ET) – Another tough game between two teams that are not amongst the class of their leagues. Both have pretty solid offenses and pretty uninspiring defenses. In the end, I like Indiana for two reasons – I get to take points instead of giving them, and the Kellen Lewis factor works on my side.
